son of jet smooth“Smooth was a product of the Roy Browning Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas, and was bought by Larry Henderson as a yearling at the Curtis Coomes’ production sale. Smooth was bred to three mares the first year Larry used him as a sire. One gelding and two mares were produced and two of them went on to become competitive arena performers while the the third became an outstanding broodmare. With that beginning, Larry started a program that we are very proud of today. Smooth has come to be known as a gentleman, athlete, and sire of many great performers during the last 21 years on the ranch. He has earned his Certificate of Ability in the Cutting and his Register of Merit in Arena Performance Events.

Smooth was used competitively in cutting, calf roping and barrel racing. Shown in cutting in the South Dakota, Nebraska and Western States Cutting Horse Associations and hauled to PRCA rodeos by Mike and used in calf roping. Whatever the event, Smooth always proved he had the athleticism and intelligence to perform.

Even though he is deceased, Smooth is still a big part of our program. We have his daughters in our broodmare band and still compete on his offspring. They are a reflection of not only his proven pedigree but also of this fabulous sire.
