So what’s with the Name???
HLC Miss Your My Girl is the name of a 2008 colt so what’s with that. We thought it would be fun to explain why we do what we do with their names. The HLC stands for Henderson Land and Cattle, we are technically and officially Henderson Land and Livestock. For reasons only Mike’s dad knows he chose to make it HLC instead of HLL. We think is has a better ring to it!!
The second part of the name, in this case Miss, has to do with which stallion the colt is by. We used Miss and Mr. for our HLC Smooth Showtime horse. We used Smooth for our CC Jet Smooth colts and Freckles for the Freckles Gigolo colts. Now for Frenchman’s Streak we use Streakin. For 25 years now we have been going through the alphabet. This year we are on the letter Y. That helps us determine what year the horse was born for future reference down the road.
So there you have it! Sometimes it’s been a little tricky sticking with all of the alphabet. Erica loves to help come up with names that are fun and make sense. Okay sometimes they make sense. Some different one this year were Yuri, Your #1, Yee Haw and Yoni.45 Riding Horses
